APELL has been founded to increase opportunities for its member organisations and their members, and to raise awareness for the strategic importance of Open Source for Europe. APELL promotes a sovereign, inclusive, ethical digital market.

APELL's events and meetings are designed to encourage cooperation, and professional partnerships. We are committed to creating an environment in which everybody can feel welcome, respected, and safe. Therefore, we expect all attendees, including staff and externals, to adhere to, and contribute to this goal.

We will not tolerate harassment, unprofessional, or disrespectful behaviour at and around APELL's events. Harassment in particular includes offensive comments with regard to gender, gender expression and identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, and actions like the display of sexualised language and imagery, intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or other recording, unwelcome or inappropriate physical contact, or sexual attention. We expect attendees to immediately comply and stop harassing behaviour when pointed out by others.

We will take immediate action as we see appropriate when such behaviour is reported or we otherwise become aware of it, including warning, or expulsion from the event.

If you experience harassment, or notice that somebody else is being harassed, please contact an organiser or event staff immediately. We will handle all reports confidentially and encourage you to address any issues privately until we have had sufficient time to address a situation.

The APELL Code of Conduct applies to all events, meetings, or similar, that APELL organises or co-organises.
